Chrysler Repair: Auxiliary Oil Cooler 99 Concorde, expoxy, hose line

Question
Chrysler Repair: Auxiliary Oil Cooler 99 Concorde, expoxy, hose line
Location of hole
Hello:

While replacing my radiator, I created a small hole in between two fins of the auxiliary oil cooler. I hope the picture helps, but the hole is located on the right side, just above the fitting to the hose line.

My questions are:

1.  Is it possible to get some type of expoxy to repair the hole? or,

2. Can I bypass the cooler altogether by joining the transmission hoses that run through it?  Is there any reason why the transmission fluid needs to be cooled?

If buying another cooler is my only option, will a universal cooler kit be ok?

Thank You,

dj

Answer
I would not try and patch it    as for after market kit  I dont know of any out there u can see if there is. The tranny has to be cooled just like the engine does  when u drive the fluids gets hot  and the hotter the fluid gets the properties of the fluid change so it wont shift right and start slipping. SO the fluid is cooled off to prevent this from doing it.
