Chrysler Repair: 94 Concorde Hood release, latch hook, release lever

Question
I have a 94 Concorde on which the hood release is broken.
Is there another way to get the hood open? Maybe from underneath?

Answer
Hi Anthony,
The latch mechanism is located on the front edge of the radiator panel crossmember, and is forward of the radiator structure itself. I believe you should be able to see it from underneath. If not, then maybe the bumber fascia may have to come off. You might also look thru the grille to see if it is accessible that way. Once you get it in view you'll see the release lever has a spring attacted to it that lies on the passenger side of the midline (this is a finer wirespring then the one above it for the latch hook).
Once you find the release lever just reach up with a screwdriber and push it toward the driver side of the car and that should cause the latch to release. The release lever may still have its cable attached depending upon where it is broken so you can see how the cable with a"grommet" on its end would pull that lever toward the driver side.
There is a 7-step procedure for replacing the cable which I can xerox copy and mail to you. Use the thank and rate tab again and enter a postal mailing address. I might not be able to get to this until next Monday but I'll give it a try before going on vacation tomorrow.
Thanks for kind evaluation and nomination.
