Chrysler Repair: Concorde 1994 overheating, latter condition, white smoke

Question
Thank you for dedicating your time in helping people.
My car overheated twice to a boiling point.
I changed the thermostat.
The fans are coming on.
I loose no coolant.
There is no white smoke from tail pipe.
No oil in the coolant.
I have to bleed it constantly as it has a lot of air trapped in the system .
When I bleed it,pressure is low and comes out at spurts. Very little coolant is coming out.
Is the water pump faulty?
Can you help in suggesting other diagnostics.
Thank you,Frank

Answer
Hi Frank,
Do the two side manifolds of the radiator feel equally warm, or is one side much cooler? That latter condition would implicate a need to flush out the radiator. How about the pressure cap on the reservoir bottle, might it be not holding to 17 psi? Any sign of dragging brakes such as overheated wheels when you haven't been doing much braking?  I would look into those possibilities before the waterpump. Thanks for the detailed description of the conditions and what you have done.
