Chrysler Repair: 2000 Sebring Jxi Anti-freeze leak, leak rate, freeze plug

Question
I have a 2000 Sebring. About a year ago I have a new water pump, timing belt, and freeze plug replaced, because of a small leak. I was told it was a freeze leaking, however they replaced the water pump and timing belt also, because it had close to 80,000 miles on it and was the safe thing to do. I have been noticing, a little bit on anti-freeze on the street once again. Not a bad leak at all, the anti-freeze stays full I don't have to add to it. Some people have told me that it could be the overflow, due to the hot weather. Does this sound like a problem I need to have checked out?

Answer
Hi Jason,
If the fluid on the ground is definitely green or orange and smells like anti-freeze then it would be worth your while to identify from where it is dripping. Park it in a clean spot, then after some drips are detected, jack up the car on the side closer to the leak (for safety put a jack stand under vehicle) and with some newspaper or other surface covering to protect your clothes slide under the car to see exactly where the leak is occuring. Based upon what you find you can then consider what is the remedy. If it is very slow and would be expensive to repair, then you might weigh repair now or later and watch for any significant increase in the leak rate. If it is a simple fix, like a loose clamp, then fix it now.
Let me know what you find and we can discuss the situation. Use the "thank and rate" tab to get back to me where there is a comment section.
