Chrysler Repair: 2000 Sebring Conv. AC Drain Hose Location, chrysler vehicles, stiff piece

Question
Can I access the drain hose to the air conditioner myself..after reading up on this, I believe this hose is clogged and I got an air compressor to blow it out???!!  IS this hose easily accessible from the top of the engine? Definitely water amassing on passenger side and not coolant. Pulled back mat and water is definitely coming from dash/firewall area..

Thank You very much

Answer
Hi Kathy,
I checked the Sebring convert manual and couldn't find a reference specific to the condensate pan drain. However, based upon the other Chrysler vehicles I believe you will find a drain outlet underneath the vehicle, basically at the point on the firewall/floor pan intersection that is directly under the ac/heater housing, and at about the midline of the vehicle. It is a stubby hose that protrudes through the metal of the pan/firewall area (probably on the vertical firewall, but it could be on the horizontal floor). All it usually takes to open the drain is to insert a stiff piece of wire into the lumen of the hose and move it back and forth and in a circular motion to clean out the passageway and allow the water collected in the drain pan to run out. A piece of cable from a bicycle brake or shifter connection would probably be fine. You will need to jack up the right front wheel and look under with a light to find it. Support the car with a jack stand for safety.
