Chrysler Repair: BODY CONTROL MODULE location, minivan, chrysler town and country, location minivan

Question
QUESTION: WHERE IS THE BODY CONTROL MODULE LOCATED ON 1999 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VAN

ANSWER: Hi Gary,
It is located on the back side of the underdash fuse box (junction block). You remove the lower steering column cover and knee blocker reinforcement. Then remove two plugs from the bottom of the bcm.
Remove the bolts holding the junction block to dash panel mounting bracket. Remove the junction block from the bracket. Remove screws holding the bcm to the jb. Slide the bcm downward to disengage guide studs on jb from channels on bcm mounting bracket
Remove bcm from jb.

QUESTION: thanks for the information!my van will not engage starter, the fuel pump will not come on, the anti-theft light comes on when ignition switch is first turned on and the locking and unlocking the doors don't change anything. can you please help me? thanks gary

ANSWER: Start by checking fuses 16 and 17 in the underhood power box  and the fuse-like temp coefficient in position 1 in the fuse box under the dash (horizontal row or 10 spaces) . Let me know which engine you have, just in case.

PS Just in case this is a theft system problem, open the hood, then cycle the lift gate key lock to the unlock position which should disarm it.

QUESTION: Roland i tried all the above, no bad fuse, lift gate lock  cylinder has no effect. let me share this after i got it unloaded off the tow truck it started bud would not start back after i tried it again! it has a 3.8 engine again thanks gary

Answer
Hi Gary,
If you believe, based on the history and symptoms, that the theft-security system is the issue then I have one other suggestion IF you also have a snart key immobilizer feature (ignition key with a plastic cap of unusual color). There is an antenna surrounding the ignition lock cylinder that may have weak solder joints. Remove the underside steering column cover to find the antenna module that is held in place by a screw (s). Then remove it and then its plastic cap where you will find the solder joints for the antenna loop. Try reheating those with a soldering pencil. This tip was passed along to me by a 2001 T & C owner. I am unsure if the SKIM module was available for '99 or not, but if you have it this could be the answer.
