Chrysler Repair: 1987 Lebaron Coupe; Electronic cluster out, chilton manuals, electrolytic capacitor

Question
Hello, I have read through several answers to a similar question but am still need help.  I own a 1987 Lebaron coupe with 2.2L turbo and it has the electronic dash (Instrument panel).  I was going to list the VIN for confirmation of which car I had since I have read that there were several changes during this time frame.  The IP used to go out and back on and now it is just out.    I am trying to find the problem.  I have both the Haynes and Chilton manuals and they both leave something to be desired since neither cover wiring diagrams for the 1987.
I wish I had a wiring diagram for this car.
I have made an attempt to isolate if I have a bad ground, no power, or bad IP.
What I have found out is that there are two connectors to the IP (black and natural).   From what I have read I need to focus on the natural connector so this is what I have found:
Black/orange stripe is 3.4 ohms
Black/Lt. Green stripe is 3.4 ohms
Red reads 12V all the time
Blue/red stripe reads 12v when key is on Black/pink stripe reads 12v when key is on Blue/white stripe reads 12v when key is on

Can you help me to the next step?  Wiring diagrams for my car?  Is it the IP or power/ground.  Can you guide me to how  to troubleshoot the circuits in the IP if it is the problem?
Thanks for your time.

Allan

Answer
Hi Allan,
There is a ground wire on pins 20, 23 of the natural plug and 12V switched ignition source on 25, and a constant battery source on pin 26. So verify the grounds.  The other 12v's you saw are warning lights. All other wires are signals of some sort. I would turn my attention to the circuit board to see if any electonic items may have failed such as an electrolytic capacitor or something solid state. I have heard of services that will repair the cluster. You could search the archive at the yahoo group called "thechryslerlebaronclub" or post a message to the membership for those offerings.
