Chrysler Repair: engine swap, 2000 2.7L: no start, crankshaft sensor, 4 digit numbers

Question
put a new engine in my concorde 2000 2.7l. everything hook back up but not getting a spark. and everything has power. could it be crankshaft sensor

Answer
Hi Dan,
Yes it could be the crank or the cam sensor. Try the ignition switch to see if you might get a fault code readout on the odometer readout. Turn it "on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less. Then see if the mileage reading changes to show some 4 digit numbers instead. Also, I would check all the disconnect plugs to be sure that you didn't accidentally plug together two different circuits that happen to use the same style plug (these would typically be the square or rectangular plugs that have 3 or 4 pins and thus can be used multiply in closeby locations. That has been known to happen in a situation like this where all the plugs were removed in order to replace the engine. The codes for the crank and the cam sensor are 0340 and 0320. Also, you might try to lock/unlock the front doors in case the theft system is alarmed and need to be "cleared". If that doesn't help, try lock the unlock the trunk. You do hear the fuel pump run for about 1 second when you turn the key to 'run', correct? Please let me know if any of these suggestions help.
