Question
HELP!!!  the securuty system in this vehicle is not allowing us to drive.  it will start, but shuts down immediately.  the light  and horn engage as soon as we connect the batterie.  locking and unlocking the driver door no longer shuts it off.  is it possible to dissconnect the system or by-pass it.  i'm tired of walking!!!!  (just put new batterie as well)  FRUSTRATED   thank-you in advance for your consideration to this dilema.  Dianne

Answer
Hi Dianne,
If you aren't sure if you found it, you could check with a Chrysler Jeep dealer parts department to see if they show a vehicle theft module or not for your '95. If they do, then we are in luck. If it is part of the body controller then you have to get around it.
In addition to the fuse, you could try opening the hood, then lock/unlock the the rear hatch key lock to see if that might reset the system. Other than that, it means finding the wires from the door lock that go to that body computer and tricking the computer into believing that you are unlocking the door, but I don't have the wiring diagram or even know where it is in a Jeep.
But if you find there is a theft module under the dash, DO NOT unplug it or that will put it into a harder lockdown that will probably require a dealer to clear it with a diagnostic readout box.
Rather, tell me and I'll give you instructions as to how to cancel it out and remove the module safely.
