Chrysler Repair: 97 Sebring PCM and AC: codes 0122 and 1496, 5k ohms, volt supply

Question
Hey there, I'm working on my girlfriends 97 Sebring Convertable JX 2.5. I have 8 years of Ford experience moved back to electronic security a while ago. I should be able to follow you. Excuse the long story but I want to give you all the info

History:
Car previuosly stalled when warm and in drive but restarted ok most of the time. No Check Engine light. Desludged Throttle Body and removed and cleaned IAC and that fixed it for a while may need the IAC

Battery went dead and replaced it. Did adptive learn. Two weeks later when the weather gets warm she says AC does not work. Thats when I noticed the check engine light. Girl didnt know how long light was on.

AC does not run. Jumped out relay and it blows cold hi side pressure at 130 ambient air temp about 95 Deg. Both High and Low speed fans work. but no low speed on AC. Borrowed a Snapon Scan tool, codes were 112, 1496, 1599 and an EGR code that has not come back. Cleared codes. 122 and 1496 comes back emmediatly. 1599 when when turning on AC. Scan tool shows IAT at 0.00 volts.  I didnt buy what a flow chart said about IAT and MAP being bad. Jumped out IAT with a 1K resitor and then 2K resistor. Get good operating voltage at sensor. got 2.5K ohms on IAT with engine hot. Removed PCM connector and could read my resistor at pins. PCM pins for that circuit I have 5.0VDC and continuity from ground pin to vehicle ground. Scan tool shows 0.00 volts on IAT no matter what but the temp readout is exactly the same as Engine Temp Sensor follows it exactly. I'm almost ready to buy the PCM from Advanced Auto but want to make shure that I'm not missing anything. This car is a bit different than a Ford. LAst thing I did was remove power for 24 hours and still the same issue.

Sorry for the Novel.

Answer
Hi John,
My inclination would be to disconnect the AC pressure sensor and then see if your get the 1496 code. That sensor, along with the TPS and MAP appear to be the only "draws" on the 5 volt supply, per se. But perhaps you have wiring showing the IAT and ECT are also using that supply? I would believe that one of the three sensors I mentioned above is defective or has a wire that is shorted to ground which is causing the 1496 and 0122. Thanks for the full history.
Please let me know what you learn.
