Chrysler Repair: 93 lebaron right turn signal does not blink, turn signal switch, left blinker

Question
hi

I have a 1993 lebaron Le v6 and yesterday while driving i noticed that my right turn signal comes on in my dash but the light stays solid it does not blink so i pulled over and tested my blinkers and the outside lights stay solid as well I checked my fuses under my dash and the fuse is fine (btw the left blinker works fine) can you suggest a fix?

Answer
Hi Andrea,
This is a symptom of there being a little too much electrical resistance in the circuit for the filaments of the bulbs on that side of the system. The current has to flow at the expected rate for the flasher to go on and off. I would suggest that you check the turn signal bulbs on the front and the rear to see if there is a little oxidation on the wires of the bulbs or sockets they fit into (spray some electronic contact cleaner from a spray can on the surface of the sockets) and if that doesn't change things then check the ground wires for the bulb fixture itself (black color wires) to make sure those are clean/shiny/tight and also spray some contact cleaner into the turn-signal switch through any cracks or openings so as to clean the internal contacts for the right hand position(in fact you try starting with approach). You can get at an electronics store and get a can with a straw-type applicator.
That should solve your problem.
