Chrysler Repair: 2.5L V-6 ASD fuse blows, oxygen sensor, spark coil

Question
Maybe you can help I keep blowing the ASD fuse I have no spark but the engine does turn  over...If I diconnect the PCM the short stops but pin to pin and pin to case I have no short????

Answer
Hi Tony,
I assume that you are speaking of fuse #5 in the power distribution center, otherwise let me know. That fuse not only powers the ASD relay's coil but also it send power thru the relay points when it closes and on to: the PCM, the injectors, the spark coil, the downstream oxygen sensor, upstream oxygen sensor. So you don't "see" any shorts when the relay is open (from the fuse's point of view) unless you look on the output side of the relay points. If you look at pin 89 on the relay, the inboardmost, you will probably see a near close to 0 resistance to ground. Then you will want to start unplugging all the devices that I listed to find out which one cause a more reasonable resistance reading and that one would be the cause of the short.
