Chrysler Repair: Chrysler 2000 town and country mini van, haynes manual, gas tank

Question
How do I replace a fuel filter?  I know it sits on top of gas tank.  Any diagram available? Need to fix asap - 3 teenagers and it's finals!

Hi Ann,
Yes the filter is on the top edge of the tank adjacent to the fuel pump module. It is held in place by a bolt. It is attached by quick-diconnect fittings to the fuel lines (squeeze an "ear" tab and a tab on the tube to release). According to the shop manual it doesn't require lowering the tank to do this task, but the Haynes manual suggests that it does, so I can't be sure. You can take a look for it to see if you can access the disconnects without lowering the tank. The only way to give you a diagram is to xerox and postal mail it to you on Tuesday. Use the "thank and rate" tab where you can enter a postal mailing address. Are you certain that you need to replace the filter and that if there is a problem it is caused by the filter?
