Chrysler Repair: 94 chry concorde: power window only goes down, voltage polarity, backseat passenger

Question
I opened all four power windows but when I tried to close the back seat drivers side it wouldn't go up or down. When I got home I used the actual switch on the backseat passenger door and the window would only go down but not back up.  Looks like rain tonight, what do I do ?  I can't believe this is my second problem in a week, but you did such a good job the first time!

Answer
One last suggestion: remove the switch at the back door. Then using some electrical contact spray cleaner (available at an electronics store) use the 'straw' to spray into the interior of the switch thru any available holes or openings. That might clean a constact inside that is dusty or oxidized.

Hi Joan,
Thanks for the kind evaluation and nomination.
Let me know if you have an ohmmeter or a continuity tester as I can give you the simple tests that would verify that the switch on back door was bad, or that the master switch was bad. I suspect the back door switch but there is a simple way to test it. The switch simply lifts out of the panel in which it is located by gently prying on the edge. Then you pull the electrical connector and test the switch pins for connectivity to oneanother as appropriate.

Hi Joan,
The motor is probably OK, but the switch in that door is probably faulty. It has a couple of solid state devices that are responsible for reversing the voltage polarity which is what makes the motor go up or down. So unless I can find some other explanation I think you may need to go to a wrecking yard or a dealer to get a used/new switch. I'll look at the circuit some more and let you know. Better just tape some plastic in the window opening for now.
