Chrysler Repair: Horn on 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager, plymouth grand voyager, clock spring

Question
I need to know what the wire colors are for the horn in the column of a Grand Voyager. I need to re-wire the horn with a separate button so it will pass inspection.
Thanks for your time and help

Answer
Hi Scott,
The horn switch wire is black/red trace from pin 20 of one of the two 40-pin plugs of the body control module. That wire goes to the clock spring at the steering wheel/column interface and then to the horn button on the wheel which is a grounding switch (the switch is evidentally grounded by the fact that it is connected to the steering shaft/wheel). So if you want to replace the clockspring (if that is the problem) that would be the elegant way to repair it. Otherwise a switch which grounds the black/red trace wire will serve the same function, and you can pick a shiny metal body part as your ground.
