Chrysler Repair: king pin trouble, ford bronco, king pins

Question
i know this is a little out of your area, but i think what i need is general knowledge.  the king pins are out in my 1981 f-100.  i cannot drive it any more - too hard to steer.  i have all the parts and general tools that have served me so far but the project makes no sense to me, i just don't "get it"  some general tutoring or an idea of where to find general tutoring would be very much appreciated.  thanks so much for your time, je:)

Answer
Hi Jeanne,
Wow, "king pins" goes way back. I almost can't picture the suspension that uses king pins. My suggestion would be to find a manual from the 70-80's that covers the truck line you are working with. Perhaps a local library would have it, or a commercial manual such as the Haynes line which are generally good (#36058 covers pick-ups and Bronco '80-96). The other source would be eBay where you should be able to find a Ford official shop manual, checkout this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1980-FORD-BRONCO-F-100-F300-TRUCK-ENGINE-SHOP-MAN...

which is for the 1980 model year. That would probably give you the information you need.
Best wishes.
