Answer
Hi Chris,
Your question was just forwarded to the question "pool" where I found it.
Is your car a convertible or a sedan? There is a starter motor relay which should click when you turn the ignition switch to "start". In the convertible it is located at the rear of the power distribution center box that is under the hood behind the radiator about in the middle, where you will see 4 relays arranged in a square. It is the front one on the driver's side. Have a helper try the starter with the key and listen for it to click softly. If it doesn't then either the relay is bad or the neutral/park safety switch for the transmission is out of adjustment or the wiring from the ignition to the relay is 'open'. If it clicks then you have to check for voltage to be arriving at the starter motor or not on the brown wire at the solenoid switch of the starter.  If it does, but the solenoid doesn't click loudly, then the solenoid is bad. If it does and the solenoid clicks loudly then either the starter motor is bad or the battery is weak or the connection of the battery to the starter is loose or corroded. If voltage doesn't arrive then even though the relay clicks the internal points of the relay are oxidized and not conducting.
In the sedan model the starter relay is on the right side of the center console close to the floor of the console.
So investigate these possiblities and let me know what you learn.
