Chrysler Repair: Neon want start and just click even after a new alternator, neon sxt, batt cables

QUESTION: I hope you can help. This am I tried to start my 2005 Neon SXT and all I got was clicks but all of the internal lights and radio worked just fine. The car starts up just fine once it is jumped. Once running I disconnected one of the battery cable and it dies right away. Thinking that I'm dealing with an alternator problem I put in a NEW one and got the same thing. Please assist

QUESTION:    Thank for the follow up. But how could it be the battery if after it's jumped and running removing one of the battery cables kills the car? I thought the car doesn't run off the battery any only uses it for start up.

the battery is the stored power of starting and running the car  if u dont have enough stored power u cant start it  hence why u had to jump it.Now yes u are correct if u take off the battery cable it should run off the alt  unless  u have a bad battery to start with  because the computer senses the voltage when u turn the key on  and if u dont have 12v or more  the PCM will not set the target voltage to what is required to run the car  If u want u can do this, take the batt cables off hook the jumper cables up to the cables alone  start the car  then take the cables off  see if u run then  some times it works  some times it does not  but ne way  need a new battery.
