Answer
Hi Gerad and Christine,
How quickly after you start the car from cold does it overheat?
Do you get the impression that the water is coming from the overflow because it is boiling over (with steam?) or is it more like it is being driven out by pressurized air? Do you hear it bubbling inside the engine? Do you notice white smoke coming out the tailpipe when start the car, and if you let some of it condense on you hand does it smell like coolant? Have you felt the two sides of the radiator to see if they are about equally warm, or is one side colder than the other?
Tell me the answers to these questions and I may be able to advise you.
I am sorry to be responding so late, but I just noticed your question on the "pool" list.
