Chrysler Repair: 1993 41TE trans shifting problem, solenoid pack, manual roland

Roland, I have a 1993 grand caravan that wont shift out of second,it shifts 1st to 2nd then the engine races and it drops back to low, this happened suddenly,I changed solenoid pack but still the same thing, my keycode flashes code 32 which Im told is hydraulic pressure,could this be an electrical problem? I"d also like to know if a newer model [2000] tranny 4 speed overdrive will interchange. I would appreciate any help or info, Thanks, Gary

Hi Gary,
The ignition key code approach only reads engine faults, not trans faults. The 32 says the egr valve is sticking, so that should be an easy fix. Try some WD-40 the valve stem where it enters the valve body.
You need to get a trans controller readout via the digital data plug under the dash to see what is wrong. I don't have experience with the issue of substitutions. But let me know what code you get from the trans readout and I can check that against the manual.
