Chrysler Repair: a604/41te trans problems: by-pass limp?, solenoid pack, trans repair

Question
found a site on the web but have since lost it that, tells you what plug to disconnect from this trans to allow you to shift it just fine manually if it is stuck in "limp mode".I am way old and fixed income doesn't allow for trans repair shop ... please help, please

Answer
Hi Bob,
I don't believe there is such a method of by-pass because the clutch are controlled by hydraulic fluid which is in turn controlled by the solenoids which are electically controlled. I believe that if you pull the electrical plug on either the solenoid pack (located on the transmission, the box as it were) or the if you pull the transmission relay from its socket (which might be considered a form of plug I guess), in either case it will just default to limp in mode. Those are the only two "plugs" that can disconnect. You could try both, but I think it will remain in limp in mode.
