Chrysler Repair: Intermittent wiper relay module repair, auto wrecking yards, soldering pencil

Question
I've had 2 intermittent wiper control modules (actually circuit boards as the module itself is reusable) go bad in my 1990 Dodge Spirit EX Turbo which I've owned since new.  The car still runs great.  These circuit  boards are getting hard to find, and the dealers that have them want an arm and a leg, and sometimes my first born, as payment.  Do you know of anyone or any service who can repair one othese circuit boards.  Thank you for your  time.

Answer
Hi Cass,
I don't know of anyone who does this for a price as a business. Can you identify the part that has failed by loss of fluid (e.g. an electrolytic capacitor) or frank burn through (a resistor)? If so you could buy a replacement at an electronic store and with a soldering pencil and solder replace the part yourself. You might find that the part that failed in board 2 is usable in board 1 and so swap them out.
Have you checked any local pull-it-yourself auto wrecking yards?
Finally, you could see if there is a Yahoo
autos group for the Spirit/Acclaim/LeBaron Landau which are the AA-body vehicles of that time period. At one of those groups you are likely to find someone who will have information for you.
