Chrysler Repair: Valve train 1999 3.3 liter V6, rocker arms, rocker shaft, dodge caravan

Question
Are the rocker arms in a Dodge Caravan 3.3L V6 mounted on a common rail, individual studs, or other?  A friend has one lifter and associated parts tapping very badly.  Will the rocker and associated parts just keep going until the cylinder starts missing, or catastrophic failure imminent?
THANKS!!

Answer
Hi Michael,
There is a single rocker shaft for the 6 rockers associated with each of the 6 valves, held on by 4 bolts. That appears to be easily removed and replaced. The cylinder head has to be removed to service the tappets, unfortunately. I can't give you advice on whether the cylinder will begin to miss before some sort of failure of the mechanism as I haven't owned this engine or worked on it. I doubt that failure would be catastrophic, except for loss of oil pressure suddenly. But I am not much of an expert as noted above.
