Chrysler Repair: Security alarm in a 1990 3.0 labaron coupe, green orange, door locks

Question
I have a 90 labaron that started and ran just fine until the other day. Now when I start it up it will run for a second or so and shut down. I'm told that my security alarm module is gone. Is there a way of bypassing it.

Answer
Hi Derrick,
It is possible to disconnect the module but first you have to cancel the alarmed condition in order to get the engine to run again. Once you have done that successfully the alarm module can be unplugged as long as at the time you pull the plug THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. Failure to have the engine running will cause a hard lock out situation so don't get into that issue.
The way to get the engine to run again is to try to lock/unlock the passenger side door using the door key. If that doesn't work, then try the same thing on the driver side (but I suspect you already tried that).
The other way to get the alarm cancelled out is to go to the module and locate wire on pin 8  (dark green/orange) or pin 15 (light green/orange) and use a jumper to connect either of those wires to the wire on pin 1 (light green/black) and the remove the jumper. This simulates the door lock/unlock as the wires from the door locks are connected to 8 and 15. Then try to start the car. Once you succeed in starting the car you then pull the plug on the module while it is still running.
The module is located either above the glove box OR on the right cowl behind the kick panel trim (that would be the panel next to the passenger's right leg. I don't know for sure as the manual shows it in either location. In any case, the module has a single 21-pin plug that is "natural" in color. There will be another module nearby in either location, in all likelihood, but this is the only one with a single 21-pin plug and the wire colors as described.
Good luck, and please let me know where you locate the module to be.
