Chrysler Repair: miss-fire cylinder 3: 2.5L V-6, chrysler sebring, tps sensor

Question
I have a 97 chrysler sebring LXi, i just bought the car the kid told me it needed a new tps sensor and fuel filter. i put the new parts on including new plugs and wire and still have the same prob. when i start the car up i could give it gas slow to any rpm i wish, but if i give it gas hard like step on the pedal the car dies out to 1,000prm but dosent shut off. i hooked up the code reader and had multiple cylinder miss fire and 2 codes for cylinder 3 missfire. i erased the codes and did it again and still have cylinder 3 miss fire. I could drive the car for a short period of time giving it gas very slowly almost like driving normal and after a while the car will spit and spudder and not want to move, if i give it gas it will sit at 1,000rpm and not move. hope i explained this good enuff for someone to let me know what the problem could be.

Answer
Hi Matt,
I would check the distributor cap and see how it looks inside, checking closely for the rotor condition and at the post for cyl #3 and the cap surface around it. Then I am thinking you would want to check the compression for that cylinder, and also contemplate replacing the injector for that cylinder. That unfortunately involves some dismantling as you already know from replacing the plugs. You might also try spraying very small bursts  of starting fluid (so as not to risk a fire) around the edge to the intake manifolds while it is idling, before you dismantle it, to see if there might be a manifold leak which would cause a brief change in the idle speed following spray burst. Other than that it would probably take an engine analyzer/scope to identify something related to the ignition system.
