Chrysler Repair: 2002: Speedo/Tacho needles stuck under pins, jeep grand cherokee, chrysler product

Question
My wife pressed and held the trip milage reset button and it started to blink and a red flash came on that read, (e-mode or e-code) or something like that. Then the rpm and speedometer needles went all the way to the clockwise side and stuck there. Is there a way to reset this?

Answer
Hi Michael,
Another Chrysler product owner answered a virtually identical situation as follows:
" I came across a copy of a repair manual for 1999-2000 JGC's which said the problem was caused by low voltage occurring during the jump and the way to fix this is to hold down the odometer reset button while the ignition is off and then switch it to run (not start)while still holding down the reset button. the needles will then wave back and forth and rapidly return to their correct position on top of the pin. It worked like a charm. As Jeep is a Chrysler product this no cost trouble shooting methodology should be tried on all Chrysler vehicles before you spend any time or money on anything else.."

The JGC referred to was a Jeep Grand Cherokee, but I am pretty certain this will work with your minivan. It appears to be reversing the action that caused the problem originally.
Let me know please if it doesn't work.
