Question
QUESTION: I replaced the battery about a week ago to solve the starting problems which seem common in this model. yesterday mt son was driving the car and all the dash lights came on for a while and then went back off and drove fine. what could this be?

ANSWER: Hi Damian,
Can you tell me by "lights" do you mean the illumination lights, or the warning lights, or even the gauges? That would help me to understand what is the issue.

QUESTION: all the warning lights came on and all the gauges went to zero. my son says that he was driving the car then all the warning lights came on, the gauges went to zero and then they all went completely out. however he was still able to drive the car and then they came back on.

Answer
I would begin by checking fuses # 1, 7, 14 inside the dash. Remove the end cap on the very left end of the dash (open the driver's door) to gain access.
Remove each fuse and inspect for a subtle crack which might cause this kind of intermittent. Other than that, the ground point would need to be checked (left side of the center console at the base of it), and finally an issue with the digital data communication connection plug to the dash from the body computer would be suspect.
