Chrysler Repair: Dodge Grand Caravan transmission, dodge grand caravan, manual roland

Question
Hi........I have a 2002 Grand Caravan,no previous problems with transmission.Got off freeway, and when I tried pulling away from stop sign, it was like I was in nuetral.fluid is full.clean & correct type. When cold it will drive forward, but not shift, it has no reverse.Opened hood at night & I see the plug wires are shot.......sparks all over them, probably why Check Engine light just came on. Any suggestions? Could it possibly be the wires? Bad torque convertor/splines? Solinoid pack? Or just a plain old bad tranny? Any suggestions would be Greatlt appreciated.  Thanks,  Mike

Answer
Hi Mike,
I would get a fault code readout of the transmission memory using the plug that is under the dash near the steering column. An Autozone parts store may do that free or get a lower cost readout from an independent shop. Ask for the code number(s), what they mean, what is the repair, and how much. Then write back and we can compare that to the shop manual.
