How do I set the timing (base) Do I have to disable the advance...How?

Hi Kent,
There is no mechanical/vacuum advance in the distributor. But you do have to first warm up the engine, then remove the connector to the engine coolant temp sensor(two-wire connector adjacent to the thermostat manifold on the top front of the engine), then set the timing to 12 BTDC at idle by rotating distributor. The reconnect coolant temp sensor.
