Chrysler Repair: climate control unit problem: 2000 LXi, climate control unit, 2000 chrysler concorde

Question
I have a 2000 Chrysler Concorde LXi. The battery was just replaced and now it won't let me do anything with the auto climate control unit.  I tried to put into it's diagnostic mode by pressing the Floor, Mix and Defrost buttons all at once unitl the display blinked, it would blink then I let go and it would just display the "snowflake" and defrost signs.  What should I do?

Answer
Hi Jenni,
I assume that you did the test with the engine running. If not, then do it with the engine running, but the car at rest.
If it still won't give you a fault code readout, will it show any temperature settings? If so be sure that it reads '75>sno F' when you do the test.
Finally, I would suggest that you remove the end cap of the dash on the left side so as to gain access to the fuses that are inside the dash. Remove fuse #19 and after about a half hour reinsert it in its position. See if that has revived the unit. That fuse is the one that provides power to everything needing power when the car is shut down (including the ATC and the body module). It may be that removing the battery disturbed some aspect of these units, and simply pulling the fuse will reestablish normal function when reinserted. I assume the interior lights are working still. If not, then fuse 19 may be blown.
