Chrysler Repair: No start: 1995 Chrysler LHS, 1995 chrysler lhs, manuel gomez

Question
I'm having a problem my 1995 Chrysler LHS will not start.  What could be the possible problem if some of the gauges are working properly and some not. I have noticed that the heater fan, gas gauge, and  the digital mileage reader are all not working. The car will turn over but, now that all of those things will not come on it seems like I'm not getting any juice to the spark plugs. If you have any possible explanation i would appreciate some help. Thank you, Manuel Gomez

Answer
Hi Manuel,
I would check fuse A and fuse J in the power distribution box under the hood. Either of those supply the ignition switch which may not be getting power to all of its circuits. Inspect them carefully for a small crack in the wire.
Then if those look OK, I would try to get any fault codes from the engine computer. "On-off-on-off-on and leave on" with the ignition switch, doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat to assure as accurate count of the flashes. Then group the counts in pairs in the order they appeared to form the 2-digit fault codes. Then write back with the codes and we'll go from there, or go to www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html for a code listing that may say if there is something wrong in the engine spark or fuel systems.
If you only get a 55 code (which means end of readout) and the fuses are OK, then I would think the ignition switch may be at fault, but that needs to verified with a voltmeter, and I can tell you how if you have one.
