Chrysler Repair: 98 Town and Country no start related to theft system?, radio works, dash lights

Question
Over last two years the car will on occasion just not start.  Sometimes first thing in the day - after having been driven.  Will start but die in 2 seconds (this happens two or three times in a row) then nothing.  No dash lights - doesn't start - it doesn't try to start. Turn the key and nothing happens.  Radio works at this this point.  Most of the time if left it will start again later, an hour or so.  But on three or four occasions it just would not start at all for days.  A jump from the AAA truck started it, although I was not able to jump it from another car.
It has a factory installed anti-theft system.  I tried turning the key in both direction on both doors and that doesn't solve the problem.  The remote entry as well as the keys work fine, locking and unlocking.  The alarm on remote when pressed responds properly.
It has been to Chrysler twice and they can find nothing wrong with it.

Answer
It appears that you tried all the possibilities for disarming the theft system with no response. What you describe is consistent with a problem with that system. The proper sequence with the door key is lock/unlock just in case you didn't try that. The only possibility may be a water leak from the windshield corner  which is just above the body module is dripping on the plugs and shorting out the disarm signal. So see if the problem is coincident with a car wash or heavy rain. Other than that, my inclination would be to give up on the system. The problem is you can't simply disconnect it. But if you will only use the mechanical interior push buttons to lock the doors when exiting the vehicle then it will not arm the system so it therefor should not falsely alarm. Don't use the door lock key to lock it, don't use the power locks, don't use the remote.  The dealer should have used a diagnostic readout box to see if there were any clues in the form of fault codes stored in memory. If they didn't do that, then it would be a worthwhile thing to do.
