Chrysler Repair: Chrysler A/C clutch cuts in and out, chrysler minivan, pressure transducer

Question
I have a 1997 chrysler minivan( called a voyager in the UK)
the problem i am having is that i changed the A/C compressor a while ago and got the system regassed and now when i turn on the A/C the compressor engages the A/C clutch but after a short while it disengages and then again engages and so on. I have changed the relay and still the same.I have read on this site somewhere that you can turn on and turn off the A/C button for a number of times to do something to the A/C clutch but i can't find it again. Is this right or is it more serious PLEASE HELP.THANKS

Answer
The A/C compressor and its clutch are controlled by a pressure transducer whose voltage is related to the pressure in the system. It will not operate if either the pressure is too low (lacking of refrigerant) or too high (beyond the safe limits). The clutch normally is supposed to engage and disengage with reasonable frequiency under routine operating conditions. Are you getting cooling is the question. You may just be over-sensitized to the cycling but it could very well be normal.
