Chrysler Repair: transmission slips, transmission code, roland

Question
my tranny slips into low (not all of the time)I had a tranny repair shop reset a tranny code then the car would not start. Replaced the distributor, now the car starts it toke a couple of weeks tranny problem has resurfaced is their a way to clear the transmission code by disconneting the battery for a while. I just want to get my money's worth out of the distributor before I junk the car.

Answer
Hi Steve,
You can try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes which will probably take the transmission out of limp-in mode (driving in 2nd only), but as soon as the controller recognizes the fault again it will put it back into limp-in. If you know the trans fault code let me know and also mention which engine and model and year of the car.
Maybe the repair of the trans can be effected without a full re-build.
