Chrysler Repair: 1992 chrysler town and country, chrysler town and country, cluster test

Question
QUESTION: I did the cluster test you had told me to once again, this time an "E" came up and the word "code" was on the bottom right. I also did the door lock like you said and the van is running now-thanks! Please help again-appreciated-Paul

ANSWER: Hi Paul,
Unfortunately I don't see an explanation for an "E" in the '93 manual I am working with. Where does the E appear (where the speedometer reading is usually? Does the code appear in the odometer window area? No other numbers appear in that window following the "code"?
I am glad you got the engine to run again.
Roland

QUESTION: I redid the test again and "E" came up and "code" came up where the odometer is, I waited a couple of seconds and then 999 came up where the code word was.

ANSWER: OK,
Now repeat and after you get the 999  press the us/met button and see if all displays illuminate for 6 seconds and then a 5 appears in the speedometer window. Did all segments appear or did some of the segments not illuminate?

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: yes the 5 appeared and they all segments lite up.

Answer
Now, I don't recall exactly what the original problem was, but I assume it was not simply a fuel gauge issue.
So the next step after the 5 appears is to again press the us/met and observe whether the segments appear in a sequence or do they all display at once. If they light up individually, the again press the us/met and see if speedo and odo symbols display in sequence, individually or simultaneously. Let me know how it goes.
