QuestionQUESTION: about 2 weeks ago our 2005 chrysler pacifica driver and passenger power and heated seats stopped working... the back seats still heat up but the my husband and my seats refuse to... ive been searching online trying to figure out if it could just be a blown fuse.. my husband doesnt think it is because he looked at it.. so now im asking how can i reset the circuit breakers?? the dealership we got it from isnt being very understanding of us just wanting them to look at it and see whats going on with it, even though we havent had it a year :) anything you can tell us would be GREATLY appreciated!!! :)
ANSWER: It doesn't sound like a fuse problem. It sounds like the heater element in the bottom part of the seat went bad because the back rest part you say still heats up

QUESTION: :) we have 2nd row seats that heat up also.. that would be the back seats that still heat up :) the driver and passenger seats dont work at all... the bottom part or the back rest part..

Flash: Front Power Memory, Heated Seats and/or Adjustable Pedals Performance
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing or selectively erasing and reprogramming the Memory
Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module, diagnosing and repairing a spread wire terminal in
the Integrated Power Module (IPM) and connecting the upper portion of the driver seat
adjuster track assembly to electrical ground as necessary.
MODELS:
2004 - 2006 (CS) Pacifica
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after January 19, 2004 (MDH
0119XX) through and including February 12, 2006 (MDH 0212XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The front power memory, heated seats and/or adjustable pedals may exhibit any one or
more of the following Symptom/Conditions:
· Heated seats do not get warm enough
· Become non-responsive (lock up) due to a software issue in the Memory Heated
Seat Adjustable Pedal Module
· Become inoperative due to a spread electrical terminal in the IPM
· Become inoperative due to electrostatic discharge causing the Memory Heated Seat
Adjustable Pedal Module to stop functioning
DIAGNOSIS:
1. Open the hood.
2. Check vehicle repair history. Was service bulletin 08-039-05 REV. A previously
performed on this vehicle?
a. Yes >> go to CHECK MODULE PART NUMBER Step #1.
b. No >> go to next step.
3. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
4. Remove the hood cable retaining clip near the IPM.

5. Using a flat bladed tool, depress the four locking tabs on the side of the IPM to release
it from it's mount (Fig. 1).

6. Viewing the IPM from the bottom, disconnect the white, 15 way C8 connector from the
IPM.
7. Locate cavity 15 of the C8 connector (Fig. 2).

8. Insert the male terminal gauge, supplied in the parts kit for the body wiring harness
repair, into cavity 15 of connector C8.
9. Does the male terminal gauge fit loosely in cavity 15?
a. Yes >> go to IPM CONNECTOR REPAIR PROCEDURE Step #1.
b. No >> go to Step #10.
10. Connect the White C8 connector to the IPM.
11. Position IPM into place, and lock into position.
12. Install the hood cable retaining clip.
13. Connect the negative battery cable.
14. Test the Power Seat System (i.e. driver and passenger power seats, adjustable pedals
(ifequipped), memory (if equipped) and front heated seats (if equipped).
15. Does the Power Seat System function properly?
a. Yes >> go to CHECK MODULE PART NUMBER Step #1.
b. No >> Refer to the detailed diagnostic information available in TechCONNECT,
under: Service Info, 8 - Electrical, Power Seats, Diagnosis & Testing.

IPM CONNECTOR REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Replace the spread terminal in cavity 15 as follows:
2. Disassemble the C8 connector in order to remove the female terminal from cavity 15.
3. Cut the spread terminal off of the body wiring harness allowing enough wire length to
solder the new wire jumper, provided in the kit, onto the wiring harness.
4. Remove one-half (1/2) inch of insulation from the wire jumper, provided in the repair
kit, from the body harness wire.
5. Place a piece of adhesive lined heat shrink tubing, provided in the repair kit, on one
side of the wire.
6. Place the strands of wire overlapping each other inside of the splice band (Fig. 3).

7. Using crimping tool, Mopar p/n 05019912AA, crimp the splice band and wires together
(Fig. 4).

8. Solder the connection together using rosin core type solder only (Fig. 5).

CAUTION: Do not use acid core solder.
9. Center the heat shrink tubing over the joint and heat using a heat gun. Heat the joint
until the tubing is tightly sealed and sealant comes out of both ends of the tubing (Fig.
6).

10. Insert the newly repaired terminal into cavity 15 of the White C8 IPM connector.
11. Connect the White C8 connector to the IPM.
12. Position IPM into place, and lock into position.
13. Install the hood cable retaining clip.
14. Proceed to CHECK MODULE PART NUMBER Step #1.

1. Using the scan tool, determine if the Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module is
locked up or non-responsive. Is the Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module is
locked up or non-responsive?
a. Yes >> go to Step #2.
b. No >> go to Step #5.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Wait 20 seconds and then reconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Using the scan tool, determine if the Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module is
locked up or non-responsive. Is the Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module is
locked up or non-responsive?
a. Yes >> go to MEMORY HEATED SEAT ADJUSTABLE PEDAL MODULE

b. No >> go to Step #5.
5. Check the Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module part number using the scan
tool and record the part number listed on the module on the repair order.

PROCEDURE:
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. If necessary, remove vapor canister to gain access to the seat anchor nuts. Refer to
the detailed service information available in TechCONNECT, under: Service Info, 25 -
Emissions Control/Evaporative Emissions/Vapor Canister - Removal.
4. Remove four nuts attaching the seat to the floor pan.
5. Lower the vehicle to access the seat.
6. Remove the headrest from seat.
7. Lift and tip the seat forward to access the wire connectors under the seat and
disconnect the wire connectors. Pull the seat rearward and tip the seat so that the top
of the seat is resting on the steering wheel. This will allow access to the bottom of the
seat.
8. Remove the memory heated seat adjustable pedal module attaching screws.
9. Remove the module from under drivers seat.

10. Position the appropriate new Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module under the
drivers seat and fasten it to the seat.
11. Connect the electrical connectors to the module.
12. Was service bulletin 08-039-05 REV. A previously performed on this vehicle?
a. Yes >> go to SEAT TRACK GROUNDING REPAIR PROCEDURE: Step #13.
b. No >> go to SEAT TRACK GROUNDING REPAIR PROCEDURE: Step #8.
MEMORY HEATED SEAT ADJUSTABLE PEDAL MODULE FLASH PROCEDURE:
NOTE: The software in the DRBIII®; must be programmed with 63.0 level software or
higher.
NOTE: If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, the flash process should be
restarted and then follow the directions on the DRBIII®.
1. Before beginning the flash procedure, remove any old flash files from the DRBIII®
memory. To clear the memory from the MAIN MENU:
a. Simultaneously press the “MORE” and “YES” keys.
b. A screen will appear requesting a “COLD BOOT”.
c. Follow the on screen instructions by selecting the “F4” key.
d. When the DRBIII® reboots to the MAIN MENU, proceed to Step #2
2. With the ignition switch in the “RUN” position, determine the original part number of the
Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module currently in the vehicle. Using the
DRBIII® select:
a. "DRBIII® Standalone".
b. "1998 - 2006 Diagnostics".
c. "All (Except Below)".
d. “Body Interior”.
e. “Doors, Gate & Comfort”.
f. “Memory Seat Module (& APM)
g. “Module Display”.
h. Record the “Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module part #” on the repair
order for later reference.
3. Connect the DRBIII® to TechCONNECT. Open TechTOOLS and verify that the
"DRBIII® Status: Connected" message is in the upper right corner of the TechTOOLS
screen.
4. Enter the “Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module part #” recorded in Step #2
in the “Parts Criteria” area and select “Show Updates”. TechTOOLS will populate the
appropriate flash file.
5. Select the flash file.
6. Select the “DRBIII” radio button which is next to the “Download/Update” button.
7. Select the “Download/Update” button.
8. Monitor the "Flash Download/Update Progress" window on the TechCONNECT and
follow the instructions on TechCONNECT. When the flash process is complete,
proceed to Step #9.
9. Disconnect the DRBIII® from TechCONNECT.
10. Install a battery charger and verify that the charging rate provides approximately 13.5
volts.
11. Connect the DRBIII® to the vehicle.
12. Download the flash file from the DRBIII® to the vehicle. Using the DRBIII® select:
a. “Vehicle Flash”.
b. Follow the directions on the DRBIII® screen.

NOTE: Due to the Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module programming
procedure, a DTC may be set in other modules (PCM, TCM, BCM, MIC, SKIM,
etc.) within the vehicle, if so equipped. Some DTC's may cause the MIL to
illuminate. Check all modules using “Module Scan”, record the DTC's, and
erase these DTC's prior to returning the vehicle to the customer. Erase any
DTC's in the PCM only after all other modules have had their DTC's erased.
13. Was service bulletin 08-039-05 REV. A previously performed on this vehicle?
a. Yes >> go to go to SEAT TRACK GROUNDING REPAIR PROCEDURE: Step #21.
b. No >> go to SEAT TRACK GROUNDING REPAIR PROCEDURE: Step #1.
SEAT TRACK GROUNDING REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
3. If necessary, remove vapor canister to gain access to the seat anchor nuts. Refer to
the detailed service information available in TechCONNECT, under: Service Info, 25 -
Emissions Control/Evaporative Emissions/Vapor Canister - Removal.
4. Remove four nuts attaching the seat to the floor pan.
5. Lower the vehicle to access the seat.
6. Remove the headrest from seat.
7. Lift and tip the seat forward to access wire connector under seat and disconnect wire
connectors. Pull the seat rearward and tip the seat so that the top of the seat is resting
on the steering wheel. This will allow access to the bottom of the seat.

8. Locate the existing hole on the inboard side of the upper seat track. Fasten the ground
eyelet to the seat track side member using the screw and nut provided in kit, p/n
05183713AA. Position the bolt on the outboard side of the rail and the nut on the
inboard side of the rail. Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (88 in. lbs.) (Fig. 9).
9. Locate and unplug the Gray 16-way C2 connector on the Memory/Heated Seat
Adjustable Pedals module (Fig. 9).
10. Examine cavity 16 of the C2 connector. Is there a LG/OR wire in cavity 16 of the C2
connector? (Fig. 8)
a. Yes >> Remove the wire from the connector and tape the wire back to the wiring
harness ensuring the terminal is completely covered with tape. >> Go to Step #11.
b. No >> Go to Step #11.

11. Insert the wire provided in the kit, p/n 05183713AA, into cavity 16 of the C2 connector.
Route the wire along the main seat harness bundle and secure the wire to the harness
using electrical tape (Fig. 9).

12. Place the driver's front seat into position for installation and reconnect electrical
connectors to the Memory/Heated Seat Module.
13. Place front seat studs into mounting holes.
14. Install the seat headrest.
15. Raise and support vehicle.
16. Install four nuts attaching seat to floor pan. Tighten nuts to 88 N·m (65 ft. lbs.).
17. If necessary, install vapor canister.
18. Lower the vehicle.
19. Connect battery negative cable.
20. Test the Power Seat System (i.e. driver and passenger power seats, adjustable pedals
(if equipped), memory (if equipped) and front heated seats (if equipped).

21. Does the Power Seat System function properly?
a. Yes >> go to Step #22.
