Question
I HAVE A 1994 CHRYSLER CONCORDE.WHEN I COME TO A STOP,THIS IS WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT SLIPS .THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS OUT AS I STOP AND THEN JERKS BACK INTO GEAR VERY HARD .ESPECIALLY IF I GIVE IT THE GAS TO QUICKLY

Answer
Hi Edgar,
I just saw your question. Have you checked the fluid level in the trans by means of its separate dipstick? If it is lower than full, then add some ATF +3 of +4 to bring it to full (but don't overfill it, and DO NOT use Dexron fluid) using the dipstick tube as the fill port. If you haven't recently changed the internal filter and in so doing drained out about 5 qts of fluid, then that would be the next possible remedy. There could be a problem with the valve body which is an easy repair, or a problem with an internal clutch that would only be repaired by a rebuild, which is very expensive. Before doing anything beyond the fill to full, you could go to a Chrysler dealer that has a DRB II code reader and ask them to readout the trans controller memory for any fault codes it may have stored. Get the code number, what it means, what they suggest is the repair, and how much? Then write back and we can compare what they say against the shop manual.
