Chrysler Repair: Fuel indicator, body control module bcm, drbiii

QUESTION: I purchased a Christler Pasifica 2004 last week . The fuel indicator goes down to empty and goes back to normal repeatedly onces it reaches half a tank. Do you know what this could be. The salemen who sold me the car explain told me to fill in the tank . I did fill it out and it stoped doing this but once the tank went to half a tank , the indicator  started doing this again.

QUESTION: the vin# for my vehicle is 2C8GM68444R356099.
How can I handle recall issues. Do I contact the dealer who sold me the car or do I have to contact Chrisler it self.

ok no recall    it has been done  but with your vin I did find this  it's a Body computer software update. Dealer only can do this stuff.

Fluctuating Fuel Gauge Operation
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves updating the fuel gauge parameters in the Body Control Module (BCM).
MODELS:
2004 (CS) Pacifica
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before December
10, 2003 (MDH 1211XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Vehicle operator may describe the fuel gauge drops to empty and then
returns to the correct reading.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using the DRBIII® check for DTC’s. If “Fuel Sending Unit 2 Open” DTC is
present, check the BCM hardware part number. With the ignition switch in
the “RUN” position, using the DRBIII® select:
1. "DRBIII® Standalone"
2. "1998 - 2004 Diagnostics"
3. "All (Except Below)"
4. “Body Interior”
5. “Body Computer”
6. “Module Display”
7. Record the “Part #” (the top part # displayed on DRBIII® screen) on
the repair order for later reference.
If the “Part #” displayed is 04727604AG, perform the Repair Procedure.
If the “Part #” displayed is 04727604AH or higher, further diagnosis is
necessary, this bulletin does not apply.

SPECIAL TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
NPN Battery Charger
CH6000A Scan Tool (DRBIII®)
CH7000A/7001A J1962 Cable with red DRBIII® connector
NOTE: An updated J1962 cable has been released. This cable has
a red colored connector at the DRBIII® connection. Use this cable
whenever a flash is being performed.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Open the hood, install a battery charger and verify battery state is above 12.5 volts.
2. With the ignition switch in the “RUN” position, perform a fuel gauge
update. Using the DRBIII® select:
a. "DRBIII® Standalone"
b. "1998 - 2004 Diagnostics"
c. "All (Except Below)"
d. “Body Interior”
e. “Body Computer”
f. “Miscellaneous”
g. “Fuel Gauge Update”
h. Follow the instructions on the DRBIII® screen.
NOTE: If the DRBIII® screen displays “Update not required for this module”,
then the BCM hardware is already at the 04727604AH level.
3. Verify that the BCM hardware part # has been updated. With the ignition
switch in the “RUN” position, using the DRBIII® select:
a. "DRBIII® Standalone"
b. "1998 - 2004 Diagnostics"
c. "All (Except Below)"
d. “Body Interior”
e. “Body Computer”
f. “Module Display”
g. The “Part #” should be 04727604AH.
4. Erase any DTC’s.
5. Disconnect the battery charger and close the hood
