Chrysler Repair: Putting the trans in drive stalls the engine., snap on solus, lebaron gtc

Question
I have a '95 Lebaron GTC 3.0. I just did a complete tune-up (Plugs, wires, rotor, cap, fuel filter) and i still have a problem keeping it running once i put it in gear. Im not quick understanding this issue. I hooked up a Snap-On Solus to the car and i pulled no codes and everything i can read off of teh module tells me the cars fine, however i havnt been able to check the trans through the Solus computer. But i was wondering if you had any idea of what this may be or the location of the plug-in for the trans to diagonois. Thanks

Answer
Hi Scott,
You can still check the engine codes using the "on-off-on-off-on and leave on" with the ignition key, doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light which remains "on" to begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the flashes before each pause, then repeat to assure accuracy. Then group counts in pairs to form the 2-digit fault code numbers. The last such number is always 55 which is "end of readout". Then let me know if you get anything other than the 55.
On the trans fault codes, there is a blue plug under the dash near the fuse box which will connect to the trans controller and body computer. It may be a differect plug from the one you have, so you may have to read it with a Chrysler DRB II at a dealership to get any trans codes. Let me know the codes you get from that plug. I live in the SF Bay area if you happen to be nearby and I have such a reader.
I don't quite picture your situation. Does it idle ok in park and neutral and then stumble or does it flat out die when you put it in gear? If it simply dies I would wonder if your torque converter lock up clutch is locked up instead of being released. That would be a code 37 or 38 from the blue plug.
