the rear shocks bottom out (very hard) and hit joust bumpers even after new (factory) shocks were installed.

Did you have the shocks put on at a independent shop not a dealer because I know alot of those vans call for a self leveling shocks in the rear which is a heavy duty shock and are very expensive any where from $300.00 to $800.00 just for the 1 shock and If you put on different shocks it might not be as good or stiff as a self leveling shock. A dealer parts should know if your van requires self leveling shocks
