Chrysler Repair: Concorde Chrysler 1999 Trunk release, key cylinder, corner edge

Question
Hopefully you can help me,, My car trunk will not open either from the inside dash button nor the actual key into the trunk cylinder or the remote.  Trunk key cylinder is or feels LOCKED,, any ideas how to fix this or what is causing this,, with the remote,, i dont hear anything moving or trying to work inside,, any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!!  Thanks

Answer
Hi Donna,
Probably the lock mechanism is sticking shut. You could try sqirting some powedered graphite into the lock key hole and around the edge of the lock cylinder to see if that loosens up the key mechanism.
But if the latch mechanism is the culprit the only possibility I can think of is to remove the back seat and hope the opening to the trunk is large enough to gain access from inside. Just remove the lower seat cushion (pull up on each front corner edge to disengage spring hooks) then remove the seat belt bolts and you should be able to lift the rear seat back off of its hooks to remove it and see if you can get in/near the latch.
