Chrysler Repair: changing EGR valve, coolant temp, crank sensor

Question
QUESTION: Hi Roland, like you told me before i check the EGR valve and it seem to be worn.one of the vacuum hose was stuck with a kind of carbon.
My question,is before install the other how can i clean the hole where EGR was is almost jam with carbon or something else but is black and hard should i remove that.I think I'm on the good way. thank you very much!! martin.L

ANSWER: Hi Martin,
That is some exhaust gas debris, such as oil fumes/unburned gas, that has been hardened by the high temperature of the exhaust gases. I think you should be able to remove it mechanically with a screwdriver or a pick, maybe spray it with solvent/penetrating oil and let it sit overnight. Try to remove it all without letting it go backwards into the pipe from the exhuaut manifold or into the intake manifold.
I hope this will resolve you problem, finally.
Roland

QUESTION: Hi Roland, I think i will give up, i can't understand. every parts you tell me to check as been change, EGR was worn, MAP sensor was bas too. i take care to chage spark plugs and i check the crank sensor with the voltmeter (0.3-5.0 volt). but now still don't start. when a hold the starter on, it's like to run but when i release the starter it just die. it 's like i can run the motor with the starter but when i stop cranking it die.
you can tell me to stop to play with that i don't disturb you again with that problem and i will understand you.
thank for your patience martin.L

Answer
Hi Martin,
I have run out of suggestions without any other fault codes. Have you checked the resistance of the engine coolant temp sensor, located next to the coolant filler neck? It should be about 7,000-14,000 ohms when the engine is cold (now, as it sits).
Other than that you have spark, mixture is controlled by the coolant temp sensor, throttle body position sensor, egr, etc. Unless your valve timing (timing belt) has slipped I don't know what else to suggest.
