Chrysler Repair: 1999 Chrysler LHS headlight bulb replacement, 1999 chrysler lhs, headlight bulb replacement

Question
How do you remove the fasteners attaching the front fascia to the fender. The book instructs you to remove fasteners through the little hole in the splash shield. I don't see any fasteners inside the hole like the 3 fasteners on the front (on top of the radiator closure) and can't see how you can get any tool in the hole if you could see a fastener. Is there a trick?
thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi Charlie,
The hole in the splash shield is said to be large and oblong: 70mm x 168mm. So you may not have found the right hole. Take another look for a large grommet to remove. Here are the instructions I just copied from my manual for another questioner:
You have to remove the headlamp housing:
Open the hood
Remove the large rubber grommet from splash shield to gain access the fascia fasteners.
Remove fasteners attaching fascia to the front fender and splash shield, using access hole in splash shield
Remove the push pins attaching the fascia to the upper radiator closure panel
Remove jackscrews attaching headlamp housing to crossmember and remove the lamp housing to gain access to the lamps.
Roll the fascia forward to clear way for headlamp housing removal
Disconnect the bulb connectors from back of lamp sockets.

There are a couple of pages that show all this in my manual. Use the 'thank and rate' tab where you can list a postal mailing address and I'll xerox a copy and mail it to you, if you like.
