Question
i recently had a 'new' radiator installed in my 1991 voyager, when i took it for a test drive, not any single gage is working...no speedometer, no gas guage... etc... no sure if it is gage or guage...  also no radio...  any suggestions...  please help..  thanks..

Answer
Hi Mary,
The instrument readings are sent digitally on a couple of wires from the body computer and engine computer over a data network that connects those parts. I would not believe that the network was at fault because that would also impact the engine/transmission function too. I would suggest you begin by checking fuse 15 under the dash to be sure it isn't blown or not making good contact for that one provides the power to operate the cluster instruments. On the radio, I don't see any direct tie to the instrument cluster and it needs fuse 7 to power it. So look at that fuse as well. Both of the those fuses are given power from the ignition switch but so also are other fuses, so I can't see any way for the ignition switch to be the problem. So start with the fuses, and let me know if you discover anything else that isn't working. In the normal course of affairs I don't see why changing the radiator would be related to these items failing as there are no electrical connections to the radiator proper. If you write back, verify that the instrument cluster seems to be more electronic than mechanical as far as the gauge readings go.
