Chrysler Repair: 99 concorde: blower works on high speed only, blower motor resistor, blower works

Question
My A/C fan blows on high continuously; how do I fix the problem? Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi Dwayne,
I assume that you have the conventional a/c-heater control panel, not the ATC (automatic temp control). If you mean that the blower will only work on high speed, NOT that you can't turn it off which would suggest the switch is bad, then I would look at the blower motor resistor block which is located under the dash in the air duct adjacent to the blower housing. Just follow the wire from the blower back to the resistor block to find it. Pull the plug, remove the two screws and pull the block out of the duct for replacement. It is a common failure item. Separate the resistors gently from oneanother when you put in the new one. You may want to remove the lower edge of the right side of the instrument panel so you can see the area I am describing.
