QUESTION: how do you get the battery out of a pt cruiser

ANSWER: what year?  turbo  or non?

QUESTION: 2002 non turbo I know I have to remove the air filter, do i remove the air filter housing, if so how........and where is the hold down nut

REMOVAL - GASOLINE ENGINE
WARNING:

TO PROTECT THE HANDS FROM BATTERY ACID, A SUITABLE PAIR OF HEAVY DUTY RUBBER GLOVES, NOT THE HOUSEHOLD TYPE, SHOULD BE WORN WHEN REMOVING OR SERVICING A BATTERY. SAFETY GLASSES ALSO SHOULD BE WORN.


Make sure ignition switch is in OFF position and all accessories are OFF.
Open hood.
Remove the air cleaner housing(Refer to 9 - ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER HOUSING - REMOVAL).
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable then the positive cable.
Loosen bolt and retainer that holds the battery down to the tray (Battery Remove/Install - Gasoline Engine Only).
Lift battery out of battery tray and remove from vehicle.
Remove thermal guard from battery.
REMOVAL
Disconnect the air inlet hose (Air Inlet System).
Pull air cleaner housing straight up to remove.
Remove the inlet duct from the air cleaner housing
