Chrysler Repair: Crank/ Cam sensor: 3.5L 24 valve, pulley bolt, roland roland

Question
Thank you Roland for your advice. I will try to look into the sensors as the cause but I do need specifics on location and removal/replacement. Thanks again, I'll let you know how it turns out.

Answer
The cam sensor is mounted on the front of the timing case cover (front of the engine), to the right of the manifold tuning valve and bleow the intake air sensor (wires are orange, black/light blue, and tan/yellow) and the crank sensor is near the flex plate/trans housing interface on the rear side of the powertrain (or right side of it if you have a rear-wheel drive set up; wire are orange, black/light blue, and gray/black). You can observe the signals put out by each sensor by putting a voltmeter between the 2nd and 3rd wires listed, turning the ignition to run, and turning the engine over by a wrench on the crank pulley bolt. You should see it oscillate between 5V and 0.3v as you turn it over.
To replace the cam sensor you have to remove the upper intake manifold plenum. Use a new spacer on the tip if reinstalling the old sensor, or make sure the new sensor has a paper space on it. Put the tip of the wensor in contace with the cam surface, then tighten the retaining screws to 105 in-pounds. The crank sensor is similar, you need to push down on the sensor until it is in contact with the transmission case.
