Chrysler Repair: power loss during shifting into Reverse, powertrain control module pcm, powertrain control module

Question
I own a 2005, 300 with about 57,000 miles on it. I was performing a 3pt turn. I went forward, and when i shifted into Reverse the vehicle turned off. The vehicle rolled back. The breaks did not work and the vehicle would not shift into park and of course turning the steering wheel was impossible.I finally was able to restart the vehicle once it came to a stop. I had to turn the key.
What could have caused this and should it require any repairs or notification of my dealership where i purchased this chrysler?
