Chrysler Repair: Voyager 3.3 v6 petrol 1998: trans stuck in 2nd gear, obd ii reader, obd 11

Question
Hi i have a gearbox fault, the it some times changes gear ok & other times it stays in 2nd gear, when it stays in 2nd i can not hear the solanoid working which changes the gears & changes between reverse & drive is clunky,i see you say in a question you answered before i would need to get a fault code from 16 pin plug,i have a obd 11 will this read fault, also i have been told this fault could be caused by a fauly speed sensor on input or out put shaft on gearbox, hope you can advise thanks Kev

Answer
Hi Kev,
The OBD II reader should give you a four-digit fault code number. So give it a try and let me know what you find. When it only drives in 2nd that is a clear sign that a fault code has been set in the memory. It could be the output speed sensor, but if the speedometer is working ok then that is probably not the cause.
