Chrysler Repair: 2001 Sebring 2.7L - leaking coolant, hose clamps, prestone

Question
my question is quite simple but I'm not sure if I can describe correctly.  Prestone has started to leak from ??? - I don't know what the part is called but it is situated to the left of the motor and has a couple of hoses connected to it- probably to the thermostat (still not sure). I tried to find a site with a picture of the engine in order to try to name the part but couldn't find anything.  Can you help?

Answer
Hi Chantal,
If you mean to the lower left front of the cylinder block then that is the thermostat housing. It has a large and a small hose attached. It might just be that the bolts are a bit loose. There are three of them so try tightening those, but don't overdue it and break the bolt. The torque is supposed to be about 9 foot-pounds.
It could be a leak around the hose fitting so try tightening the hose clamps if they have tightening screws. Other than that, it could be a crack in a hose or it could be a leaky gasket on the thermostat housing itself which would mean disconnecting the hose, or in the case of the housing the 4 bolts, and replacing the hose, or the in the case of the housing, its gasket.
